What is a stem subscription box? ›

Science subscription boxes can give young learners the tools they need to explore, experiment, and discover the wonders of science. Introducing new science skills each month through fun projects can transform curious individuals into engaged scientists, all while they're having fun.

Monthly subscriptions are $23.95 per month for most lines (Koala Crate, Kiwi Crate, Atlas Crate, Yummy Crate, Tinker Crate, Doodle Crate). Maker Crate and Eureka Crate are $32.95 per month. Panda Crate is $43.90 per crate (shipped every 2 months).

You can do a 3, 6, or 12-month subscription and the cost includes shipping. Or you can search through the shop and grab just one crate that stands out to you.

Kiwi Crate was designed specifically for children ages 5-8 and includes science activities, arts and crafts, imaginative play and more. Can You Really Afford It? Although subscription boxes can contain useful items, most of them are clearly wants rather than needs. Even if a box is a good value, it's not worth buying if you don't have room in your budget.

KiwiCo provides most subscriptions on a monthly basis, but some of them are bi-monthly. You don't need to pay for them every month, though. You do have that option, but you can also choose to pay every 3, 6, or 12 months, with discounts on longer options.
