To help students feel safe and secure at school, place a comfy sofa, soft seating or bean bag chairs in the reading corner. In addition to that, a soft rug, lamp, and a few bookshelves will make your reading corner complete. Cozy spaces and alternative seating are a great way to help kids feel at home.

Classroom decorations have several disadvantages. They can be distracting for students, leading to reduced focus and attention in the classroom. Additionally, excessive decorations can create a cluttered and overwhelming environment, making it difficult for students to concentrate on their work.

Stand out with sophisticated design

Birthday parties have themes, not learning spaces! No judgment if you have a theme– this is my opinion! However, I can say from personal experience that having a modern, neutral and sophisticated classroom color scheme has brought in far more compliments than a busy classroom theme.

Themes can be almost anything, from a total classroom transformation to a desk, door, and bulletin board that all match.

When students learn through a theme, they are learning in context. This not only helps students understand what they are learning (and why they are learning it), but also to attach ideas and skills to specific contexts. Consequently, this helps students remember what they have learned.
