Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Dynamite on June 12.

With Forbidden Door coming up in a few weeks, All Elite Wrestling has already started bringing in people from other promotions to build up the card, including somebody who challenged for a title this week.

Here's a look at what was advertised for Wednesday's show:

    • Will Ospreay vs. Rey Fenix
    • Dustin Rhodes vs. Jack Perry
    • Mercedes Moné vs. Zeuxis
    • Rush in action
    • Kyle Fletcher, Roderick Strong and Konosuke Takesh*ta vs. Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly and Mark Briscoe

Let's take a look at what happened on this week's Dynamite.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Jack Perry

The show opened with Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana coming out for a promo to hype his Forbidden Door match against Ospreay.

He was eventually interrupted by The Elite as the group issued an open challenge for Blood and Guts. Swerve talked some trash and almost got into brawl before The Acclaimed showed up. Christopher Daniels ordered everyone out of the ring except for Perry who was fighting Rhodes in the first bout.

The Natural ducked a running punch as soon as he entered the ring and began showing his young opponent why he is a lauded veteran.

Rhodes was busted open relatively early and almost ended up getting counted out when he was having trouble recovering a few moments later. After a long recovery, Perry nailed him with a running knee for the pin.

This was decent but wasn't very long, which may have worked to its benefit.

    Result: Perry defeated Rhodes

    Grade: C+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Does anyone else hope we get an interaction between Prince Nana and Paul Heyman someday?
    • The winner of this match earned a spot in the TNT Championship ladder match at Forbidden Door.
    • Rhodes may rival Jon Moxley in terms of the percentage of matches in which he bleeds.

Rush Squash, Six-Man Tag

Rush was in action against a local talent who was immediately dragged out of the ring and thrown into the barricade several times.

El Toro Blanco won easily and beat on him some more until MJF came out and attacked him. They both took out security guards and then kept fighting.

    Result: Rush won

    Grade: Incomplete

The next match was the six-man tag bout with a Kyle on each team. The Kingdom, Trent Beretta and Don Callis accompanied the heels.

Roddy and OC began the match for their teams, but when Cassidy tagged in KOR, Strong brought in Fletcher.

This match included a few different feuds and addressed all of them, but the action sort of felt like we were going from spot to spot instead of seeing a cohesive fight.

Fletcher got the win for his team on Briscoe, but the contest continued. Willow Nightingale's music hit, but we saw Kris Statlander beating her up on the stage.

Result: Fletcher, Takesh*ta and Strong won

    Grade: B

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Rush vs. MJF was announced for next week's Dynamite.
    • Briscoe's custom ROH title is awesome.
    • Cassidy's springboard dive onto everyone was great.

The Premier Athletes vs. Samoa Joe and Hook; Mercedes Moné vs. Zeuxis

Samoa Joe and Hook's new alliance was put to the test when they took on Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari.

The fight began on the stage and ended quickly in the ring with Hook and Joe getting an easy win. Katsuyori Shibata choked out Mark Sterling for good measure.

This wasn't a squash, but it was close.

Result: Hook and Joe defeated Premier Athletes

    Grade: C

Zeuxis had a big opportunity this week when she took on Mercedes Moné for the TBS title. She is the partner of the woman Mercedes will face at Forbidden Door, so the outcome was a bit obvious before it even got started.

What would have made more sense is a non-title bout with Stephanie Vaquer at ringside, so they could make it seem like cheating may help.

Zeuxis had a bit of a size advantage but not enough to be dominant. Moné picked up the win to retain her title in a predictable but solid performance.

    Result: Moné defeated Zeuxis

    Grade: B

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Hook doing Joe's walkaway spot was fun.
    • Sterling sold Shibata's sleeper well.
    • Moné does certain things with an extra level of smoothness.

Will Ospreay vs. Rey Fenix

4 of 5

    Dynamite.AEW

After Chris Jericho and his crew took up some TV time, Daniel Garcia defeated Nick Comoroto in a fast match that made the young man look dominant over a powerhouse.

    Result: Garcia defeated Comoroto

    Grade: Incomplete

This week's main event was the international title match between Fenix and Ospreay. Tony Schiavone promised they would stick with the bout as long as it took.

With two of AEW's most skilled high-flyers in the ring, there was no way this would be anything less than fun. They could have coasted and still put on a banger, but it never felt like they were slacking. The pace was quick and the strikes were stiff.

They went past the top of the hour into overtime, but only by a couple of minutes. Ospreay won with a Hidden Blade and had a confrontation with Swerve after it was over.

    Result: Ospreay defeated Fenix

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Bryan Keith is unintentionally funny.
    • The initial exchange between Ospreay and Fenix ruled.
    • Fenix was selling more than usual and it added to the match.

The Final Word

5 of 5

This week's Dynamite addressed several feuds and stories, but it didn't feel like we saw a single thing that made it a must-see episode.

Ospreay and Fenix stole the show, but that wasn't hard when three of the other matches were basically squashes.

Strickland continues to be a great champion for AEW, but even his segments this week felt like they accomplished little.

We got some good action in a few places, but not as much as we've become used to seeing every week.

    Grade: C+
